Dude, as a once avid reader of both I know what I'm talking about. Bara doesn't usually have a very realistic art style or much of a plot, but neither does yaoi. It's called yaoi because it usually has NO plot (it literally means "no climax, no point, no meaning"). Unless you call "seme falls in lust, seme rapes uke, uke falls in lust, they have buttsecks without protection" a plot (which I don't), in which case most of them do have in fact a very big plot development.
Also, yaoi is generally unrealistic because it's written by women for women, who don't seem to know what a gay relationship really entails and would rather fetishize them than gain some understanding. Whereas bara is generally unrealistic because it's often just porn and gay guys know what other gay guys want.

Just because its bara doesn't mean its a realistic artstyle,also most baras are super disgusting and artstyles are also usually super Gross, they're so damn bulky,they always over-exaggerate it and out of proportional bodies, altho they're also extremely good ones,but most of them are just plain disgusting and makes me cringe
