It’s not even because of the rape, like I’ve read tons of yaoi with rape and although rape is not OK, I get invested in some of the stories, this one though, there’s something that doesn’t click
I'd say everything :D Even the rape is not explained by a usual yaoi trope way- like "I've had this one sided love for ten years, and I need one last memory with you even if you hate me for it" kind of dialogue. Here, it's just "This is my way to make you fall in love with me" WTF. He didn't even properly confess and just jumped to it. There is no way the uke can develop feelings for him, coz there is nothing in particular the seme did to develop feelings, including stockholm syndrome. It's just a bunch of ideas from her previous mangas put together into a new book.
That's how I felt too- she just put together tits and bits from her previous work
I just can’t seem to get into this story :(
