Have you ever been truly satisfied with what you do on the spot whether it is drawing or writing? The answer is often no. Satisfaction with one's work is a long process.
That's not what I meant. He is pretending it was written by someone else not him. Self critique is one thing and then disassociating is another. And the story is based on his life story. Apparently the MC in the movie was taking his dilemma with his sexuality and father too seriously. He is looking down on his past self. This is not about satisfaction. It's about self-loathing. I asked why is he insulting it because Glen seems very comfortable and confident with his sexuality. So looking down on his past self who had to face such obstacles to get where he is today seems a bit too out of character for him. Or maybe that's just who he is and I read him wrong.
