it's translated from chinese so i think some things got lost in translation

ok wait NO forget what I said!!!!!! I thought the same thing as you because of the chinese characters and it all just sounds like a typical jp to chinese to english translation (reminded me of Super Lovers back in the day) but I found the raws and they are japanese https://www.yaoiotaku.com/forums/threads/60395-Hanagara-Tsumi-%F0%9F%8C%B8-Tsuba-Daeki-JP so I don't fucking know... I'm quite confused now. But the translator changed like 3 times so maybe that's what it is? And the characters idk...

Thanks for the link! I cannot access volume 1 though, got a 404 error, and the scene I saw Chinese characters is in vol 1. As you said the scanlation group may have changed translator and the language they translate from. I’m content with vol 2 raw (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ The source on Facebook messed up the page order so it was a nightmare to read

Yeah same... but now I'm pretty sure volume 1 was also japanese because the thumbnail the scanlation group used for the manga on their page is the first page of chapter one in japanese. And they stated that they got all the raws from the person who uploaded it to yaoiotaku so... either the person who uploaded them has chinese and japanese raws on hand (which i don't think so) or the chinese characters are just a stylistic element and the translation got confusing bc the style of the translator changed..? haha but it's weird for sure so many clues that it's a chinese translation and than it supposedly isn't lmao

By all means they can use the Japanese scan to clean and edit but translate from the Chinese version. It’s all about which translator is avsailable and want to take in the project I think. All we know is just speculation :p

I think it was translated from Japanese to Spanish to English.
