as i have answered once, idrk the reason. i am not really fond of shoujo mangas, i like shounen, fantasy, action never once i thought of shipping the characters but one day i was bored of the mangas i usually read then i decided to try yaoi..... i was sucked in
not all yaoi have sex scenes. a lot are just about romance and fluffy love, like shoujo manga. there are definitely some similarities between shoujo and yaoi but they are just as definitely not the same (in my opinion. even though I don't read shoujo. it just doesn't do the same to me as BL)
personally I have NO idea why I love BL manga, honestly. I just do? It makes me feel all warm and happy inside haha
I also have pretty high standards for the art, so I do only like to read ones with good art, but I've seen plenty of people who don't care.
In the end, I couldn't really answer ur question as to why, sorry ┐(´～｀)┌ I just think it's freaking cute

well depends of the story. I like reading yaoi because it's pretty rare to see some gay couple in this world unlike here you can see your fantasies EVERYWHEREEE.
I like both but I watch shoujo anime and read more yaoi manga. I don't really know how to explain but yaoi is just yaoi . It's really good can't keep my hand off them for long cause that are just that good.

I wanna know the reason people are into two guys doing it. Although I have my theories, for example they just wanna see guys express themselves like how women do unlike the usual aloof hetero male would show or just by having better art than usual shoujo/romance manga, maybe even the decline of shoujo manga creators?
i personally think the shoujo manga and yaoi manga are basically the same.
*so the majority pretty much stated that they don't know why and I can respect that kind of mentality. I guess people are born to like them idk.
