If you think about it for a second, I think you’d realize Hak and Yona are childhood friends while Kyoko thinks she’s only known Ren for most likely less than a year. Skip beat isn’t some Cupid’s arrow manga or a manga that is completely centered on the main MC’s love life. Not saying that Akatsuki no Yona is either. But they’re in different circumstances. Hak has always(after they’re thrown out of the castle) made it clear about his feelings towards Yona while Ren intentionally/unintentionally lets his feelings for Kyoko show. Also, Kyoko has to hide her feelings, not just because her promise to Sho but because they’re in showbiz which will be brutal to a newbie like her (paparazzi, coworkers sabotaging etc.). Yona doesn’t have to worry about whether the people around her will approve of her dating Hak or even being in love with him
The only problem i have with skip beat is that their progress is hella slow, i get it.. Issa slow burn but you need to understand skip beat is an old manga.
I read skip beat before i was a teenager and im now a young adult. My maturity have changed and i do believe the author also need to think about "their" readers too. When "they" are dragging the manga too much , the old readers might get fed up and neglect it. Furthermore, bcoz of the old manga style i dont think there will be many young readers appealed to read skip beat.
While akatsuki no yona here, we can see how yona matured along the arc. Im not comparing both manga , but at least in akatsuki no yona most conflict had been adressed while skip beat... I mean bruhh, the Kuon's thingy and Kyouko in the LME dep hvent even look like its gonna solve yet.
My point is, its not beneficial for the loyal readers who bought the manga religiously to be dragged this long. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
P.s pardon for my eng , its not my native language.
Skip beat, please take note.
