Not so op

In this world magic can't cure illnesses? That seems a bit underpowered for how most magic systems work, but at least this way we know there's something at stake and that the MC isn't god, just because he's so powerful. It's good that they made limitations to what he can do.

Well I think magic is definitely considered a skill as much as anything else,e.g. sword fighting, cooking ext, so there may be magic for healing and medicinal use but he just doesn’t know/ hasn’t learnt it.

That would be a good rebutal, since he said he can't do it, but the thing is that he said: even magic can't heal the sick. He didn't say his magic in that instance, so unless it's a translation error, I think that means all magic.

Ah ok, yeah I’m probably going to take it that way but I won’t be surprised if they find that it can later on

Yeah, it's a bit disappointing if magic will turn out to be unable to heal the sick. It'll make things more tense, but it'll also mean that he can basically defeat dragons with ease, and smallpox can still kill him xD

that would be tragic, lucky that seems to comedic for this. It would be interesting to see if he tries to learn healing magic, if it doesn’t exist at all, he recovers his emotions and doesn’t want to loose people to illness or other loose people to illness so desires to research that type of magic

That would be awesome yes, at least I hope if he gets new powers it's due to learning or experimenting. Instead of like other manga where they get powers out of their ass like it's Bleach or something.

there are some isekais that have placed rules on their world on the limits of healing magic. they can heal physical injuries or even recover loss of limbs, but not 'natural' diseases/sicknesses that are irrecoverable, like terminal illnesses. this must be one of 'em.

granted, it makes almost little sense considering how immortality is basically conjured. but well, like the previous person said, he may not have known about it as it may not have existed 5000 years ago.
