The new chap saying Kota really was just a shallow guy at first :(((
Then why the thing with being a model...? And the explanation why he fell for Hiiragi and suddenly got serious made no sense to me?
Frankly a little sad, I thought my interpretation made more sense lol. Hey author, you can make your characters say they don't know, but this reader here would like something a little better than that, please.
Also the double standarts wow. If a guy go to a mixer to score some, nobody say a thing. But the girl gets commented on. There's zero difference between what Hiiragi was doing and what the girl trying to leave with him did.
Okay, thinking about how Kota screwed up there... We know he looks good, he's popular and easy-going. People think he's used to this and that. Like it's no big deal for him. When there was the model thing, Kota was surprised by Hiiragi's reaction. Others usually think being a model and making cover is not big deal for him. They don't see his efforts. You put efforts into things when you care about.
He shot himself in the foot too, using the training thing as a way to get close.
I think he hoped Hiiragi would get it at some point, start to think of this as material for a romantic relationship. It's the talk of mixer that made Kota realize Hiiragi isn't on the same wavelenght at all about this.
Kota fucked up beause he panicked. He wanted Hiiragi to take him seriously. I think Kota is too used to his words being taken lightly or as a joke. So he didn't consider talking as an option. Before he could think, he took action instead. He did something, hoping Hiiragi can't mistake it as messing around anymore.
He... kinda did manage to make his point, I guess.
