You know this hits home on a personal level and it's awful even if there is no romantic feelings. I have this friend that would always set plans for our group to meet and hang out. And we would talk it out. But when the day before or even on the day itself, they would say that they can't go because something came up or it became stressful for them to travel so they met up with a friend currently closer to their location. It's annoying af.
Very true, regardless of whether romantic feelings are involved it’s just not a nice thing to do.
