I think it's more like "He is gay but mary the girl and cheat on her with guy"
Not sure why it wasn't mentioned in the manga but in the novel she said that it was a bad thing since the game was about romancing guys, she was wan't sure why the developers of the game put a gay love interest for the female player in a BG game.
Seriously, not even a couple pages into the 1st chapter, but being gay is a horrible personality trait?!? smh.
