It's always 90 percent religion and 10 percent society
Unfortunately I don't see any form of total acceptance in the near future.
The new generation is definitely better snd open minded so society wise it might get better but almost all religions frown upon same sex relationships and the religion beliefs are very strong in Asia
Hmm not really, most japanese don't really have a religion, but their society is very strict. So it's probably 70% society
Might add that child adoption between same gender-couples is legal in Osaka (I think it is) since 2 years back or so. The. They’ve pride festivals so Japan is moving forward. But then we can look at China for example...
Somehow I wish people here in Asia would just accept same-sex couples as much as they accept straight ones. Sadly, religion is one of the reasons why they banish the idea of acceptance. I don't think love is based on gender. Love is love no matter what gender you have as long as you feel that it's love.
