I'm not saying haesoo is innocent cuz he has his faults but with joowon he is emotionally controlling him. In the first character introductions in the Korean version of lezhin Joowon's character description says he hates dating but cant seem to stay away from Haesoo. (I recently saw it from someone else) Which without the description and just reading the story you can tell by his actions and what's indirectly being said by haesoo and joowon when they talk to each other. Yes joowon has his trauma with his step mom and that's why he can't for some reason admit he loves haesoo but he's still just having sex with haesoo with out any strings attached no person who wants a real relationship (Haesoo) can stay like that forever. & joowon is controlling him emotionally by trying to be lovey dovey knowing damn well he wont date haesoo even tho he has feelings for him. Haesoo also knows this In my opinion and treats him like crap as to remind himself to not get his Hope's up. Thats why he's always self victimizing as a defense mechanism. you look at all of haesoo's boyfriends he treat them like crap cuz he never really liked them.. they are substitutes for when joowon leaves or they have a fight. Now Joowon isnt doing this to actually control him he just doesn't think of anyone but himself when it comes to what he wants.
If you dont agree that's totally fine but this is how I see it.
And the possessiveness comes with the jealousy cuz they are not together for him to be that jealous even if haesoo did it on purpose it's called having some type of self control because joowon was the one who made the relationship no strings attached but he's the one who couldn't handle it in the beginning and even now.
Oh the thing is, during the early years it seems like Haesoo and Joowon have this deep connection. As Haesoo narrates it, Joowon says/does some stuff which makes him think their relationship is merely physical. However, when Haesoo is with other guys and doesn't do as Joowon likes (for instance, not going to him when he says so) it SEEMS to me that he gets quite violent/really really angry. As for now he hasn't done much but I wouldn't be surprised if in the future he does questionable stuff (just saying). As Doki_Doki said, I don't think Haesoo is innocent either. I believe both of them are very prideful, therefore their communication is not good. The point of my comment was that so far that's the impression that I have of their relationship (not healthy) and it has been remarked by Haesoo that Joowon hasn't been good to him/doesn't care about him. That's why I want to know Joowon's side, maybe it'll make me see things differently. Like I'm sorry if you disagree but that was the impression that I got from reading till chapter 25. I can't get myself to dislike Joowon as I said, just because I want to know what's behind all that façade.
I get your point but the exact word for your explanation maybe manipulation instead of controlling. They're both making used of each other's feelings and they enjoyed the game, especially Haesoo. He admitted to it.
Possessive is not the same as obsessive. But anyway, I know Joowon is possessive when he decided to come inside Haesoo despite his warning.
I don't think those affectionate gestures are fake. Joowon seems to genuinely care for Haesoo but he can't be verbally honest as much as Taku maybe because he cannot pursue the relationship more than it is. It's like a dead end. Haesoo doesn't understand this, and he's criminalizing Joowon for his own issues. And if you only sees from his view, you won't understand it either.
Love is not always easy, okay. Some people don't have the 'happiness' button.
Yes thank you as i re read what i wrote manipulation is the word I am looking for!
& haesoo admitted it was fun but he also questioned himself asking is this fun anymore in an early chapter while talking with joowon. I only wrote about joowon's problems because those wre the ones being questioned. I clearly said haesoo is at fault too. We all know haesoo's problems. The thing is both of their actions had side effects. I just pointed out the side effects of joowon wanting haesoo without having the responsibility and commitment of a relationship. I totally understand why he can't BUT just cuz they are understandable does not mean they dont cause damage. I never said the gestures are fake thats the problem they are sincere but he wont get in a relationship with haesoo or even talk to haesoo and let him know that he loves him. Same goes for haesoo. Communication is a big problem but definitely not the only problem. And the reason this whole situation is happening right now is cuz Haesoo i starting to mature. Hes already questioning if this situation is fun anymore.. He's admitted the situation is a mess. He has admitted he's at fault as well. The problem is that because they are so dependent on eachother especially haesoo that they cant just stop. It takes time error and repetition after realizing that you have to get yourself out of a toxic relationship.
Nice. Your subjective observations about Joowon isn’t bad at all. It would be lovely to find out why Joowon is behaving like that. And do you think Haesoo is innocent in all this? Is he really the only victim here? They are both behaving prideful right? Their actions almost have the intention to make each other angry.
So, I know Joowon is not good for Haesoo, he's seems controlling and obsessive. Usually I highly dislike this kind of behavior but somehow I can't bring myself to hate him. It's just so weird. I'm intrigued by him, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and find out why he behaves like he does. Maybe something happened to him? or his lifestyle has something to do with it? or who knows? maybe he's just a crazy, hot headed man.
Anyways, I'm sad he 'changed' Haesoo for the worst and hopefully there is his side of the story (or not, who knows). Takuto on the other hand despite being kinda gloomy all the time I think he might bring Haesoo that 'happiness' he is missing. I just feel guilty for thinking it's ok to give Joowon a chance ugh. Bottom line, the title of this manga fits the story perfectly. I'm torn guys.
