in reality that is how it would've worked but this isn't real world. come to that the mother would do more than just phone a friend - and one she doesn't know at that. what if she had phined one of the guys raping her?!? kinda weird and they just glossed over everything like rape/ let alone group rape isn't damaging to the body as well as the soul. but guess that manga land for u.
Who said anything about blaming her? Given the psychological damage she received, it’s understandable that she wouldn’t speak up. I’m just saying that it would be better to go to the police if she could handle it for the sake of other future victims and probably for some justice for herself.
Besides, iirc, she could use the photos and messages she received from the leader guy as evidences.
Still, it’s her choice and again given her condition it’s understandable if she doesn’t want to.
She should really go to the police and report them, god forbid they target other girls if they’re just to be let loose. She also needs to go to a hospital to get checked for STDs, and hopefully the guys who raped her wore condoms.
