Depends what kind of pants really like jeans hurt when going commando cause theyre really rough but plaid pants with softer fabrics or joggers wont hurt at all.

My brother used to just refuse to wear underwear (when he was younger of course, he wears them nowadays) but it would be with like those Basketball shorts or shorts he could use as a uniform for school. Apparently for him the underwear was a lot more uncomfortable at the time so I’m just assuming in depends on the pants and the person

Seriously asking, how it felt for a guy not to wear underwear? I mean, is it uncomfortable? Would the fabric of the pants hurt your crotch or something? I'm (woman) often going commando when sleeping and it's fine. I wonder how it felt for a guy.
