Yea he could, but then the author wouldn't have the chance to put in dozens of "LP gaining scenes", especially with all the teenage boy fantasy tropes like "The childhood friend that's clearly in love with you", "The princess", "The hot receptionist at x place you go to", etc.
I know this might be a bit sleazy, but couldn't he just "hire" some help to gain his LP, and then make himself a skill or ability that basically gives him overwhelming power?
