I personally don't mind this trope as long as the third-wheel is clearly not a threat. Howevet, if they are the type who are actively trying to get in the way, that's when I have a problem with it.

I ain't even mad. I knew that was gonna happen. Years of reading BL has taught me this. It's the classic thirdwheel-misunderstanding scenario~
