Stop attacking Makoto with cheap words

rkrk April 5, 2019 6:53 pm

At this point I’m actually convinced that people are just trolling with the amount of anons here. Sure, some people might be uncomfortable with someone who sleeps around but Makoto’s not one of a kind.
I understand if people dislike Makoto because his logic is just off the rails but insulting and degrading him?

I’ve read stories about ukes like this before but never such backlash and blatant slut-shaming.
It’s honestly digusting.

Makoto and Shouta aren’t even in a relationship and the last time I checked having sex friends isn’t a crime. (I still think the author trying to push Makoto’s self-sacrifice a little...too much and off-putting but writing wise, it’s okay for what it is. It was never meant to be a serious story, and it was meant for you to go wtf along with the main character. At least it knows what it is. It’s already way better than some stories I’ve read here. It’s a very light take on a certain personality type, but I wouldn’t want someone who’s like this irl to be crucified like this.

The whole atmosphere is weird and quirky but it’s still charming in it’s own right. Makoto is not a perfect angel. And he’s a little different but so what? He’s not pushing anyone down. If anything, the whole shopping district is fucking weird. Why not get upset at the person cheating on his wife and justifying it?
It’s not a book teaching you about morals or life.

I don’t mind if people calls Makoto out, or even does a whole essay on why they don’t like him but calling him a slut in a malicious way is just childish.

Don’t like then drop it. Nobody’s forcing you to read it. Getting upset when it’s consensual. Getting upset when there’s rape. Pick a side.

Overall, the story is okay for what it is. It was never meant to be a masterpiece. It ended abruptly but it’s not a story that will dwell in my mind. But at least I don’t get stressed reading it compared to the hundred of stories out there where the drama is so unnecessary and stressful.

Well you cant really talk about the married guy bacause they were sex friends before he got married.

Idk about the kissing thing. Thats not me, but i know ppl do that with close friends and family. My husband's family are french they kiss me. I think its weird but i dont make a scene.

Yes there are slut shaming but not all. I think some ppl do make valid points.

For me. I stopped reading it because the seme had asked the uke to only sleep with him, but the next day the uke was willing to sleep with someone else.

Yes they are not together, but it seem to imply the uke liked the seme in a romantic way. Im surprised he did want to make an effort to the one he supposedly like.

I can understand you enjoy this manga and dislike all the negative comments, but the comments section is a free for all to voice your opinions. You tell ppl to move on, but maybe you should as well.

Dont take it personally. Its just a manga. Someone calling a made up character a slut.... O.o ok..... You know this isnt real right? This isnt a real person. If it was a real person. I get it. I wouldnt want to cause anyone depression or suicide.

You say ppl upset about rape. Ppl upset about consensual sex. Ppl are upset readjng comments so just move on. No one is forcing you to read negative comments either.

    To each thier own.

I don't dislike all the negative comments towards the manga since there are some with interesting points which I do agree with. I don't like comments calling him and "onahole" I've even seen people using "slut" as a positively to describe a character before embracing their promiscuity and stuff. I've read people who dislike him and make valid points and I'm not talking about those people. People are free to like or dislike a character, and Makoto's character isn't my type either.

For the kissing part, I guess it's weird because it's deep kissing?
I don't really know much about how much skinship people have from the West and to what extent it will be considered as normal. I've only seen a light peck on the cheeks or hugging.

Just because he likes someone doesn't mean he's bound to his crush. I like reading stories with pure love sure, but still I just considered this as something different. The writing is a mess but I liked it enough for how weird it was. And it's really one small step away from just turning into a psychological manga (which would be way more interesting but stressful

I also don't think that Makoto will suddenly jump into real life and kill himself over the hate but I guess it's a little worrying in a sense? Because this kind of comments also exist on places where real people are involved so I got a little sensitive.

I don't really have to scroll much to see the overwhelming sea of hate on Makoto, although it's a little better now that the story is completed but I just like balancing things out a little. Since Makoto's not really a horrible character and everyone is just weird in this story.

And no worries I don't take it seriously haha. I also find it silly to be so riled up over this. But I just wanted to get it off my chest for once and move on.

Well i never said he should be bound to his crush, but that i was supprised, but yes, this is the reason i stop reading this manga. Like i said to each thier own.

I get your point and you do have valid arguments.

I mean i do get attached to some characters i like and i feel an emotional bond with them. Some stories are touching, scary, funny. Its hard not to feel something.
Lol yes maybe i am the crazy one.

Yes its hard to see when its a real person getting bullied online, but like i said this is just a fictional character. I mean if they called the author names and such. I think thats wrong. Jist cuz you dont like a person's work you should hurt ppl with words.

The only reason i commented was because you were telling ppl to stop if they dont like it stop it and drop it.

And you are right. I read it. I didnt like it so i dropped it, but i still have the right to comment on my opinion. Like you have the right to speak.

Yes, ppl are mean. Yes, some shouldn't say such horrible things. But some ppl like you just wanna get things off thier chest.

I find that online o.o ppl can be truely evil because they can without repercussions and thats not right, but i cant control that so i just try to brush it off or ill go crazy.

Its crazy cuz seems like everyone is attacking each other. Ppl who enjoy the novel are calling haters immature, slut shammers, hates consensual sex, bla bla . You are attacking ppl, while the haters are only attacking a character without emotions. They arent even attacking the author. (I could be wrong. I jist didnt see any if it does exist)

So i find it odd you feel sensitive to a character, but then you lable haters as rapiest haters, hates consenual sex and basically telling them what to do. "Dont like it drop it."

O.o i have feelins too. Lol

Anyway im not telling what to do or what to think. Just try to look at the picture at another angle. You have rights like all of us

Ps im glad you got that off your chest.

I mean i wish we can just agree to disagree and move on. Theres so much hate everywhere. Its just sad. Why cant we just enjoy our bl and move on to the next without insulting each other or labling each other.

    rkrk April 6, 2019 7:35 am

I'm not trying to insinuate that people who hate this manga are rapists or hates consensual sex. Otherwise I'll be labelled a lot of things by now by the amount of things I'm okay with or enjoy lol.
I'm just saying there's this iffy standard about it now.

People are overly sensitive over "rape" in stories. I think it's getting better now in the BL scene, but last time yeah I do agree. Honestly there's a large amount of BL that pushes the story forward using rape or fake hurt which is stupid to read but it really makes the other better stories stand out.
But some people literally don't allow any character to repent (sure some don't deserve it but some I think are ok) and they continuously bring it up and dismissing any possible "happy ending" there could be.

It's getting to a point where I can't read a story without people discussing the moralities of fictional characters.
Sadly I've actually seen people attacking the authors (especially korean ones since they use SNS a lot) on what a character does and stuff. Which is just irritating especially when the author replies in English.

Also I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings by stating my points down. Like I said, I've seen good points arguing against Makoto's selfish character and I do agree. It's not as if I'll suddenly build a shrine worshiping how well written it is haha.

Arguing here is fine, but really really hope people will stop going to the author's private twitters just to bash them and it's not like I have any way of stopping people from doing so.

But yup, I'm just here to read stories not here to start a whole political movement. I think the author themselves didn't take it too seriously writing this too seeing how quickly it ended once they got together.

    soie_yoie April 6, 2019 8:10 am

Wow thats crazy. Idk how ppl can be so mean.

But like how you said if ppl dont like things they can just drop it. You can do the same for comments. No one is forcing you to read it.

I mean you can read your manga. Enjoy it and move on. Like what you said to the haters.

Whats the reason you look at comments?

Sometimes when im unsure about a manga. Ill read the comments. It tells what an impression the manga left behind. This helps me to read the manga or not.

Sometimes ill read the manga and love it so much. I just want to see what other ppls opinions are. Doesnt matter if its negative or positive. I just wanna see ppls opinions. I generally dont take it personally.

I dont know what sns is.

But negative comments shouldn't stop you from enjoying a good manga. I mean you should enjoy your mangas that you like. There will always be crappy ppl everywhere dont let it get inbetween you and a good manga. Cuz then your missing out.

    rkrk April 6, 2019 8:31 am

I tend to look into the comments to see if a certain manga is worth my while or not.
For example I don't really enjoy cheating themes, or complicated love triangles with no real resolution. I'll normally just avoid those.

Sometimes if it is really ridiculous I end up reading the manga out of curiosity. I also like to read the general response of a manga I just complete to gauge the overall opinion of a story. However, I'm also free to put out a comment which I normally don't do. I rarely comment in stories I read tbh. But while there's a general opinion which everyone agree with, ultimately there's also the opposite. Which this time round I happen to be in.
So while I'm not raising my pitchfork to burn all the people who don't agree with me, which is stupid btw, I'm also free to comment as I like.

I enjoy engaging in civilized discussions because it's interesting to see people argue against my points and it's fun to learn more about the other sides which I don't think about. Plus, agreeing to disagree is what I normally do however in future discussions, there are more points I can make after getting more viewpoints. The comment section is an interesting read if people are willing to put out their points without shutting other people out.

And don't worry, I rarely let comments drive me away from reading a manga because I like to read it myself to formulate my own thoughts. I've liked several stories that are almost overwhelmingly hated too but it doesn't stop me from liking it.
It varies from person to person. Some people might feel like a story is a waste of time, whereas some people just eat it up.

Generally, I'm a sucker for well-executed cliches no matter how predictable a story is.
And I'm lowkey a fan of gore which is pretty controversial.

PS: Sorry, SNS is social networking service like twitter
