It’s similar to what we have in the real word, often women get discriminated against and have lower payning jobs even when they have the same job as men, im a girl in engineering and i have to deal with asshole guys all day, not all of them are jerks but its a fact of society, its just been translated into omegaverse
And that’s what makes the genre so messed up because it often romanticizes the extremes of what you’ve described or even disgustingly legitimizes it with the message of enduring these negatives provide deseriable outcomes like “romantic partnership” and I say romance with heavy sarcasm.
Well, it's not that easy. The reasons why this genre has a big fanbase are complex.
