The scam

Something April 2, 2019 4:03 am

So I understand that most of the comments here are about the homophobe uke... but I want to talk about the scam.

The scam doesn’t make sense to me. How is it that the lender can just disappear? Shouldn’t uke’s father followed due diligence? Another thing, if the lender just disappears, how is it to the ower’s fault to pay the court back?

Wouldn’t the dad be happy he doesn’t have to pay all that money back? I just don’t get it. Please help educate me if you happen to know the answers/reasons.

I just like basic logic in my yaoi, and this scam doesn’t pass my basic logic test where I can enjoy the story.

Oh and I really want to know what happened to the seme’s ring finger ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

I was wondering the same thing about the scam. I'm thinking they disappear, then when the loan repayment period ends, they show up to receive the collateral. So, if the dad only had a loan for $5,000 and he used his business as collateral, if he wasn't able to repay the money back, the scammers can claim his business for not repaying. They can't do anything like take them to court or report the, because he signed a contract I assume.

Not sure how it goes in Korea but this sort of happened to my mom.

Some years ago my mom had her identity stolen, credit cards taken out in her name what not. They didn't get the mortgage note so that was good.

To deal with this mom declared bankruptcy...but the house is on prime land.

Mom was making payments on the mortgage.

Texas has super strong homestead laws, if you declare bankruptcy your house is safe from creditors and such as long as you didn't use it as collateral.

    Mom would never do that.

But the mortgage company wanted the house, this was before The Housing Crisis and The Great Recession.

Mom found out that the mortgage company was deliberately making sure that mom's checks were not being cashed to pay for the mortgage so they could foreclose on the house.

Mom sued them. She got a lawyer and took them to court to fight it. The judge was furious and ordered the mortgage company to cash the checks.

    Mom's house was saved.

MC's dad took a 'private loan' ie he got a loan from a shady place and used his business as collateral for that loan.

The loansharks are doing what my mom's mortgage company did, they are deliberately dodging the payments so when the missed payments reach x amount they can take the father to court and claim the business as their own.

From what the story is telling us, this is legal.

Shady af but legal which is why the police can't do anything. And they can't take them to court to be save the business without having the full payment ready.

So without finding a way to force the loansharks to take the payments there is nothing to be done.

    Ohhh that makes sense now.

But the way it is described in the story sounds like an illogical plot point to me.

Thank you for explaining the scam to me; and I’m glad your mom was able to save her house (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ She is admirable person!
