well remember that originally, irrimyui was abandoned by her ppl bc she wasn't able to give birth. so i assume she wanted to feel useful, and by having a child, she could feel like she had a purpose.
Yes, it had to do with the people of the village where she was banished. Nowadays one wouldn't make that big of a deal if a woman can't give birth (No more than the ones directly affected that is). But those villagers believe it as a defining and leading factor. Thus irumyu, as she grew up there, she also carried that belief.
