WHY SHOUNEN-AI?

Yeah, Shounen ai is much softer than yaoi. Yaoi include sex while Shounen ai don’t.

People who read shounen ai don't have to "put up" with it because it's a genre for the audience who do happen to enjoy BL without hardcore sex. It's all about preference, pretty much.

Minimal chance the content has rape.
Focuses on the romance.
Asexuals exist.
Sex is a topping in a relationship, not the be-all, end-all.
Don't have to deal with the heterosexist seme/uke.

I disagree, in my opinion shounen ai is much better because it's more about the relationship and not just sex. I get that sex scenes can be satisfying but there are too many BL's that only focus on sex.

GAAAH, so far, I only found two yaoi manga where the focus mostly on sex but lessen the story plots~

but yaoi manga like Honto Yajuu and Hidoku Shinaide just (▰˘◡˘▰)

Fluff yaoi & shounen ai are way better than just really smutty yaoi. The feels hit you way more in shounen ai. In yaoi, most of the time there is just sexual tension.

It depends. Legt shounen ai are as good as yaoi. Heck sometimes they are susperior because they take their time developing the relationships. But the one thing I can't stand is SUBTEXT shounen ai. It keeps teasing at that but in the end nothing happens. And even if they kiss, their romantic relationship which is what matters the most IS NEVER established. Yeah "Koori no Mamono no Monogatari", "Silver Diamong and ""Komatta Toki Ni Wa Hoshi Ni Kike!"

some yaoi are good enough, like Hidoku Shinaide, it's not just about sex, but it's about how they want to progress the relationship and even showing them growing up (≧∀≦)

it's really admirable. obviously, yaoi manga that is more focused on sex like Retsujo Love Cross but I tend to read that 'only' for the sex.

talking about feels, have you read Kowagarani Soba Ni Ite? that manga is SICK ya know ╥﹏╥ it got me all teared up LIKE UGHHHHHHH and yet, they also provide some hot sex scenes (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

honestly, there are so many YAOI manga out there that are way much better than shounen ai but hey, it depends on you right? (≧∀≦)
