I get what you mean but the relationship was already damaged beyond repair when Haero disappeared the second time. If they ever get back together Don will have some serious trust issues. but yes, i agree the story started going south when Don started cheating and Haero became desperate and started blackmailing Don. I'm disappointed it started out good but now I don't know if I'm gonna continue this story.
that is true... Don would definitely have some trust issues. I just wished the author started off with trying to re-kindle their friendship first of all. have them SLOWLY get to know each other and ease into each other's lives again. Like 10 years is a LONG time jfc. And that way Haero could actually show how he's a changed person, willing to fight for Don and all (which would minimize the trust issues)~ and Don could have time to break it off with his gf. Yet instead here we are, they BARELY just met again, and they're already building their r/s on so much toxicity. i seriously dont get the author's intentions. like am i supposed to be rooting for them here??? sorry im just venting at this point hahaha. this really did start out good but now its just :///
yes I agree lol. The story was already messed up and then the author tried to add some over the top unnecessary drama that completely obliterated any good opinions I had left of the main characters. I'm just soo disappointed ugh!!! It started out sooo good with all of that sexual tension and look where we are now. *sigh*
'A Man Like You' is a classic example of a story that started out fine and had to be dragged out wayyy longer than it should have because of it's popularity, for money, I guess. This one, as you pointed out before, turned into a mess solely because the author over-dramatised the plot and put too much angst into what started out as a fluffy and sweet story. The sudden flip from fluffy to psychological was disappointing, and since they will obviously face more trouble being together than not given their rocky past r/s, the readers are too confused to support them getting back together.
But I guess I still want to see what they'll decide to do later, even though I really don't wanna see Nami's end of the stick, so as far as readers like me are concerned, I guess it's a win for the author. Yayyyy.
Why do so many longer bl comics I read: they start out so good. so promising.
and then start becoming so....... >_<
Their r/s in college: I can understand why it ended. Like they couldn't talk to each other and express their feelings well. They kept hiding things from e/o and it was frustrating to watch. Don thought he was trying to protect Haero by keeping things from him and visiting his ex... HE WASNT HELPING. And ofc they could've patched that up real quick~ but in the end Don wasn't the problem: Haero knew Don had feelings for him now, he knew he wasn't trying to get with his ex-- but it was Haero being an insecure mess. Which in a way, I kind of understand. Haero had self/people issues. He wasn't ready to be in a relationship with Don when his own emotional and mental health was so crappy. And so they broke apart.
But then this time skip happened and that's where I actually started getting mad. Like this was a chance: A CHANCE TO FIX THINGS BETWEEN THEM. They could've finally started over, and they could've done it RIGHT. But noooo, instead Haero goes into blackmail mode. And Don goes into cheater mode. Like bro why... this is character development gone backwards. And they're not on the same page YET AGAIN. If this a love story between these two, I actually want to see a convincing healthy relationship to make me believe that these two SHOULD end up tgt-- otherwise, I don't think they should be end game. In fact, if this was real life, they probably wouldnt end up together.
(and btw i hate how the lady is gonna become collateral damage. sighh)
