Fiction vs Reality

How the Lamas are portrayed in this manga vs how they're in real life are like are the sky and earth, was the mangaka under pressure?? Or maybe s/he just didn't care about the countless monks' self immolation??! How bad can the situation be for them to resort to that kind of suicide??!!! Countless people are losing their homes, rights and humanity, when they're treated as property or some nuisance??? And the plans for them in the near future seems to be something like concentration camps because the Chinese government want their land and resources!!! You can ignore the Tibetans like the rest of the world, but why would you make the Lamas some evil characters, when they're suffering, being jailed and tortured never to be seen again, having their religion and rights violated???!!! This is INCREDIBLY CRUEL!!!!!!!!!!

You're SO right everything else seems wrong! I didn't realize this was a work of fiction... whew! It's not like there are real live people/lamas suffering and SETTING THEMSELVES ON FIRE! Oh wait...

    ?????????????????
I DON'T get you. Why do you INVOLVE real life matters in a work of FICTION. If this was an ARTICLE it would have been APPROPRIATE but IT'S NOT. SO CALM DOWN.
AND THIS IS WHY THERE IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN "FICTION" AND "NON-FICTION"

Why are you so bothered by my comment??? I wrote a comment to let people know what's going on and expressed my disappointment in the way the Lamas were portrayed, and you're here telling me to calm down and actually getting MAD at me??!!! Why don't you take a deep breath and keep on ignoring real world issues and enjoy your mangas?? I'm putting this issue out there, so that people can learn of this injustice and get involved or ignore it, it's up to them!!! I'm not forcing anything down your/their throat! Btw, it seems you misunderstood my previous comment, fyi, I was being sarcastic, I don't actually believe the manga is REAL... LOL ( ̄∇ ̄")

I think it’s just the way you said it seems like you really care about this fictional work. I get that you are just trying to be sarcastic or something but I think the way you wrote your comment gave off the wrong impression. I’m sorry it’s just when I read your first comment I couldn’t see any sarcasm.

I understand you want to show “justice” by pointing out real facts going around the world, but even if you are being sarcastic you shouldn’t get mad about people not getting your point. I’m also sorry if this offends you but if you want to teach people and spread awareness, I don’t think manga sites are the best option. But of course it’s your choice.

Also sorry for posting so many stuff, I’m kinda new on this platform so I thought my comment didn’t post. I don’t want you to think I’m trying to prove you wrong or anything, again I’m sorry

    (Late reply, I know...)

From what we have been told, this story is steeped in Chinese/Korean folklore regarding these martial arts sects, including the lamas. I therefore think that this idea of corrupt lamas is not supposed to be taken as current, but rather is included in or compatible with folklore regarding a particular school of lamas. I was just reading the Chronicles of Heavenly Demon webtoon which had a similar (but not the same) portrayal of a few lamas originally from the same place (that Potothingy Palace). I'm not sure, because it's not my culture's folklore so I'm unfamiliar with it, but I assume that Korean readers would not be associating them with the prominent lamas we are familiar with in current times.

(Of course, I'm not trying to belittle your concern about modern lamas at all!)
