If after all those vows he doesn't go after him, then I'd expect Bum to be haunted by those broken promises for the rest of his life, which would be spent in thorough mental care anyway for obvious reasons. I'm not team happy Bum. I'm team "LET'S JUST SEE THE WHOLE WORLD BURN" I guess.
