So after reading this for the 3rd time, i realized.... . . . . . . Shell is probably older than Eric. Because Eric was born after Ellie left Shell's family. Considering Shell has grown up like a human (from a junior when ellie left to a young man when he met One), i think his body ages like human as well.
Probably an useless fact, but i was so damn happy when i figure this out (=・ω・=)
