It's not about having thicker skin, or because we're being 'gay', this just isn't the place for shit like that. Go to Reddit or somethin'. Not everyone shares the same humour, especially when it involves religion or something that's a touchy subject. Furthermore, how can you not like something if you haven't read it? It's inevitable. You're bound to read stuff like that without intentionally wanting to. It's not funny, and it's insensitive to some folks.
I've no idea what specific thing you're referring to, but please don't use 'gay' as an insult? It makes zero sense. Both the original meaning (happy) and the current meaning (homosexual) are not negative, unless you hate homosexuality, but you read yaoi so that's not the case.
Like... just try to be more original when trying to insult people, okay. There are more than enough choices.
Then why do you use it in a negative way? I don't get it ( ̄∇ ̄")
A gay person reclaiming an old insult to use it in an empowering way is a thing I can understand. (For instance, in my language 'pot' is an insult for 'lesbian', but lesbians have been reclaiming it and have been using it to refer to themselves. I personally do this too, sometimes.) But here you used it to refer to others in a negative way... Which is even weirder, because you are gay yourself. Yet you compare yourself to the others and say yóu don't pay attention to those trolls, and that other people who do pay attention, are 'hella gay'. So following your own argument, the 'hella gay' people are the others, not you... It just doesn't make much sense?
It's kinda stupid to make a big thing out of this, so I don't wanna start a fight over this lol, but I just think your argumentation is kinda weird. ( ̄∇ ̄")
bruhh gay can mean alotta thangs- maybe when she said "you guys are hella gay" she meant that you guys are a bunch of bitches. I mean- wtf look at you, you tryna diss her bc of a word that you thought she had no right to say. Like???? That just makes you sound like a lil bitch. You can say watchu want and so can everybody else
Lmao, okay dumb cunt, clearly you didn't make it past grade 3. You don't even know what a diss is, stop using words too big for your understanding. Learn how to read, I wasn't 'dissing' her over the word gay. If you're gonna try and act like a smart little bitch, at least stop fucking contradicting yourself and take your time to learn how to read.
I can say whatever the fuck I want whenever I want, and like they said, if you don't like it, fuck off. You guys are nothing bunch of hypocritical little fucks. Now hop off wherever the fuck you came from.
LOLLLL WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU LMAOOO. I ain't talkin to you, I'm talking to akikosenpai so mind ya own business and don't butt into an argument that ain't aimed at you- not everything is about you darling. Yes I know, a sad ass world for an attention seeking bitch like you :'DD
Funny how you talkin about "hypocritical little fucks"- which is ironic seeing as you're the one who's never "learned how to read" properly. Unlike you, someone with a functioning brain and the ability to read basic english would obviously see that my reply was not for you but akikosenpai
Oh dear, this is exactly what I did not want to happen.... This didn't need to blow up. All I did was ask the OP to refrain from using 'gay' in a bad way. (I did that because it always makes me feel sad when I see that happen. Like when people at university tell each other to 'stop acting so gay' or 'ew, that's gay' (and then they do not mean gay as homosexual, just as a synonym for something bad.) That supports the narrative that being gay = something bad)
Clearly this is some internet slang or something now if it means 'bitches' (when did that happen?). That's also why I asked for an explanation, because I thought it was weird. I did not diss the OP, and if it looks that way, it was not intended. OP clarified that they were homosexual themselves, so they obviously didn't mean any harm. That's why I- in my previous answer, also said I didn't want to make a big thing out of it. I just said I didn't understand. Now I do (but I still personally think it's quite sad if 'gay' somehow means 'bitch' now. That's just me)
If you think that makes me a 'bitch', then so be it. I don't really care. I feel sorry for the OP who's getting notifications for something as stupid as this, though.
> And what I'm tryna say is that she can say what she wants to say even if she wasn't gay and even if it offends you. It upsets you? Good for you, just don't try to shut people's gobs up or ask them to refrain for doing so whenever something displeases you. Best way to go about it is to just leave- you wont get upset if you don't see it ;)
> Everything can mean different things these days if you keep up with the programme- heck I didn't know beans, tea and beef are the same thang but they suddenly are
> But you don't really feel sorry for the OP do you? You're just making that up to use for your own advantage. If OP really feels that way about getting these notifs... well... it's her post that she can take down or she can simply mute the notifs. But if you actually and legitimately felt sorry for her you wouldn't have openly expressed your thoughts of sensitivity on a post arguing about people being sensitive in the first place, would you now? :'DD Tad bit daft
debate is a good thing, and im not gonna lie but this was entertaining to read so yeet. maybe it's just a difference in culture but where i am it's very common to call things gay even if you're homosexual yourself. you could ask me why but my answer is just that we're all just too uncreative to get better disses ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I never said it offended me. I said it made me sad, which is not the same thing.
I also don't agree with your point that everyone can say what they want. By that logic racist slurs and other sensitive words should also be allowed to be used by anyone, at any time. As history has proven, clearly not everyone agrees with that.
Of course words can change meaning. But as long as they haven't become official, you can't expect everyone to know them. As I already stated in my previous answer though, I understand why it was used in this context now. I asked for an explanation, I got it. (Maybe the answer wasn't the kindest, but ah well.)
I don't see why I would want to create an advantage for myself? This is not an official debate or something where I have something to win or lose. Also, what I meant was that I felt sorry that my short message led to a lot of other messages, while it could have stopped immediately if someone had just shortly said something like: 'People use 'gay' as 'bitch' now.' I don't feel sorry for my original message at all. I know why I wrote it and I still stand by that. I'm also sorry to say that I don't understand your last three words at all, but I suppose they were not that important?
To @Kuromez: I debated for a while if I wanted to reply to this or not, but since you said it was entertaining to read, I answered. Thank you for your answer. That was all I wanted, honestly. I'm sorry that I made this longer than intended, but I felt like I needed to explain myself to the other person when they replied to my answer especially. Maybe it is a cultural thing indeed, though my country is quite close to yours... Maybe it is just because English is not my first language, as you probably already noticed by reading my answers.
> Yes, indeed not everyone agrees with that, just like everything in the world around us; no one completely agrees on one thing. For example, some people support gay marriage and some people don't support gay marriage. Both have equally plausible arguments as what both groups deem right or wrong is subjective to themselves. Just shutting or forcing one side to become silent and repress their opinions because it goes against your own personal perspective isn't entirely fair, is it?
> You made an advantage for yourself by using such an excuse to stop a conversation- or in other words- triangulation.
Unpopular opinion but you guys need thicker skin. I find this anon hilarious because you all get so worked up about it lmao. If you don't like it then why are you giving them attention? You guys are hella gay, if you don't like what they're saying then just don't read their posts. Or be like me and just enjoy the ride because it's hella entertaining.
