Child brides? Yeah that's disgusting. But in china it's a common thing to call strangers brother and sister and aunt and uncle, it has nothing to do with familial relation, just keep that in mind.

its the same concept as korean calling older boys , their lover and their blood related brother 'Oppa'. Chinese just use 'gege' instead .Both still mean brother .
