Imagine doing all the the work to rob a bank. Then unrelated robbers who did nothing, get their share too. Is this fair? No. But so wasn't stealing from the bank. Because that money didn't belong to you. So you can only complain to other robbers. Who don't care because they also want some money too. It's a vicious cycle really.
lol Copyright. That single word should explain it all.
The latest chapter was even an official translation from tapas as it seems. Even worse to do than traswlating and editing the raws and spreading it online.
Also webtoons are also more troubling as they are online only mediums.
Sharing it is in short a crime. Illegal. They could get sued.
Also worse is even doing it with an official English version. It's also kinda disrespectful because your stealing an author's work. I mean I kinda understand if you spread a bit of the work if they are like only 3 free chapter of a web toon and it's hard to judge the potential but too much is wrong and in the end any little bit of spreading is wrong considering copyright if your not the copyright holder. But moral wise anyone should never spread much especially locked stuff after 10 or 20 chapter should stay where it's supposed to be.
Though we are talking about modern days. Everything online can be spread but also anyone could get sued for it, even watching or viewing it is in some countries already considered illegal and you have to pay for it though mostly only if your watching or viewing what your own countrymen is a copyrightholder of (like an official dub of an anime in your country language)
But you get it right? Even translation groups have no right to judge others who don't follow their rules cause they are criminals too cause they are not the copyright holder and have no right to spread another's work.
Anyone spreading someone else's work is a criminal. Remember it well~
You look only one side. İf translators didn't do any work author cannot be that popular. I am not native in English and in my country only 4 or 6 manga has translated and realeased. As a translator if we translators dont translate them a manga they won't know anything about manga. I spent more than 15 hours for a episode! And I am doing volunteer. And you say we are robber... I know what you mean but you can't call us a robber. Because mangas didn't even expect money from my country to sell so don't even publish. But we , translators spent hours to translate and publish their works more people and say support to mangaka... And we are becoming robber!!!... And buying about manga... My country'a currency is not good and that episodes is pretty expensive and not even my language... İf they pay me too be their official translator and pay me I can also pay them for episodes... I spent hours and then I named as a " robber"...
It's an analogy. Just like comparing an unknown music artist whose written lyrics but didn't think it would be popular so he shared it on social media.
Unknown people see the potential it has and gives it a platform for others to consume this music. Because hey, this unknown artist didn't expect anything. They should feel grateful to these unknown people. Coz they made the song popular. All he did was write it. <_<
I acknowledge what I read here is piracy. I'm not discrediting the work you put in. Just stating circumstances that compare to each other. Think what you like. Your free to do so as you please.
İf you give example you should do it like:
One unknown people write music and because of people who put effort for hours and share everywhere that music to be that music can be understand by everyone even though writer didn't think them from start . And after all that things writer got angry them! Even though they spent hours and volunteer to share your work! Writer couldn't share this songs other countries but because did their effort writer works getting popular but we claimed as a thief!
To be honest of you think like this you must not be here. Because I know all translators feel same about accusing as a thief. You say we are thief but we should continue our works and translate it like we have no shame... Mangaka blame as because we deserve it, but you understand our feeling so we should continue this... Your opinion is so cruel...
I wonder why translators don't want their work to be posted here. I mean, mangago is the most popular site for Manga. What's their isuue? Is It the lack of credit?
