Well for me this manga is the best of the best in terms of story, MC, and the no-romance plot. The closest I can think of is A Returner's Magic Should Be Special (link: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/a_returner_s_magic_should_be_special/).
Another one that's pretty good, but not very similar, is Saihate no Paladin (link: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/saihate_no_paladin/). Truthfully, Solo Leveling is in a league of its own.

well if you count his male best friend (who shows A LOT more concern for a male best friend than is normal) then maybe he has one, but so far I've only see the red-head chick and possibly his bestie's cousin (blue-haired chick) not sure about her though.

The character development (weak > OP) and the game-like fantasy setting was done really well here. None of the characters are annoying, and thank god THERE IS NO HAREM. can anyone recommend something similar?
