The translation here seems to be a bit off, but another translation I read said that he chose Corel and Mishe to be legal wife candidates, so he didn't choose a wife yet.
That's what I meant. They both have been promoted as legal wife-candidates, but should he have skipped this step and immediately chosen Mishe, there would have been repercussions for sure. Now Mishe has some time to prepare herself as well, while some of the court can still hold the hope he will chose the 'suitable' Corel in the end.
Is it possible he chose 2 wives so not all the pressure is on Mishe? It would have put her in the spotlight too much and made others uneasy (bc of her upbringing). By picking someone the public approves of as well, it takes the heat off of Mishe a bit?
We all know he has no real intention of taking Korel as his legal wife.
