Well, I've never been a big fan of either stories you mentioned but it's not the fantasy elements in general that I think are getting weird.
More specifically it's the: making somebody your puppet by ejaculating in his mouth, the weird magical creature that almost tentacle raped our protagonist and other occurrences such as these.

If the being made a puppet by “ejaculating in [someone’s] mouth” refers to Heinrich and the Bishop guy then that’s incorrect. He is using some form of evil twisted (blood?) magic to control people and he used it on Heinrich in order to violate him.

So why did that old hag turn into her in Tahoons dream? She even said something about Leopold lifting a curse. If I'm understanding the story correctly (no guarentee lol) her husband decapitated her while she was having an affair. She mention there being a "trick" on Leopold's sword. So maybe that was the same sword her husband used to kill her. But who put the "trick" on the sword in the first place? I feel like that priest had SOMETHING to do with it.
