Hell yeah it does. If you got award or a reputation for being the best at something and then you’re suddenly 2nd place. Doesn’t it hurt your pride and reputation being in a position below. It’s the same with sex, if you’ve always been a seme/top you don’t want to suddenly go down a place to uke/bottom.
