No, I'm in the same boat. We know the original story but at the same time, Claude hated a little girl because her mother gave birth to her, knowing she would likely die. He hated Athy for no other reason, and to me that's disgusting. I understand pain and mourning but to put the death of someone on an innocent child is just monstrous. We know how the original story ends, he mistreats Athy to the end and kills her without a second thought.
Sure this character can grow and change because the Princess is now possessed by someone who knew the story, and manipulated her way into his heart, while now she might truly love her "father" she did start this whole thing because she didn't want to die since he was fully capable of killing her shown in chapter (I think 21) Where he sits over her and you see flashes of her, an innocent child and he thinks about killing her then.
Sure he can change but at the same time, he's a horrible person. And that wont ever change. The only reason our protagonist is doing so well is because she went out of her way to entertain Claude and manipulate the situation. The original Princess just wanted her father to love her, and was stunted by not being loved enough.
Am i the only one who still hates original Claude and still doesnt know why and how he can love jennete even though he know she is not his real daughter and she looks like the bitch who ditched him...????
And urghhh i dont like his reaction and gaze towards jennete in chpter 33 (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ why tf he look so soft at that time?!!!!
