I think it’s Claude’s older brother tricking Jennette into harming Athy. Since it looked like magic had gone haywire with the hair decoration when Athy touched Blackie. And that was the hair decoration Jennette bought from the street market that was recommended by the older brother/“her dad” in disguise. Can’t wait to see the king’s reaction!
