It seemed like a moment where he sympathised with the demon house, who is just discovering what it is and its connections to the living; Similarly, Hanae is now starting to realize that he doesn't really understand who/what he is himself. He's human, yes, but he has supernatural powers that he's only suddenly gained since starting that school year.
It's probably startling and unnerving to suddenly discover something so large and unique about yourself, but know nothing about it----and only having Itsuki as a reference to whether it's normal or not doesn't exactly help with coming to terms with those sudden developments??
In other words, it was just a moment of recollection of his and the house's similarities. Kind of like a flashback?

I thought it was as Sakae-possession moment, actually. (Well, I won't know for sure until next chapter, but the way his aura/personality became a bit sharper, a bit more bitter, a bit more brash was very like the other time that happened.)
