police

The police in this manhwa are so incompetent.

A kid's parents both mysteriously die. Girls associated with this same guy magically disappear. Now the officer investing him suddenly "suicides" despite no prior record of mental health issues. No one besides Seungbae is tying the fucking dots together? Is the rest of the homocide department on vacation?

Also, if you're investigating a suspected serial killer, why would you enter his house alone, where you're at his mercy? Seungbae and Chief Kwak both did this, and Kwak is supposed to be a seasoned veteran. Geez I get that it's fiction but the police work here is too unfathomably sloppy.

I agree! I can’t believe how dumb all those police officers are, how the fuck are they not suspecting something ??? they are clearly not doing theirs jobs, they are not doing anything and I’m also angry about him entering sangwoo’s house. don’t you already know that he is a fucking psycho???? how could he possibly not see that this was a trap and simply go inside the killer’s house ? I’m angry but I can’t stop reading it

Right? Sangwoo could've been brought to justice very early on in the manhwa, preventing several deaths and stopping Bum's abuse IF the police had properly done their investigative work. Also Bum sitting in a chair tied is clearly a red flag and trap. I don't know why Seungbae would advance forward instead of fucking calling a SWAT team then and there.

So basically ya'll are saying Koogis work is dumb and sloppy

no, of course not. it’s obvious that the police was made like that so the story could go on easily but you have to admit that if she had written the police doing a better job sangwoo would be already one of their main suspects

no, it's not just for the plot, I think it's on purpose. Seungbae is over-emotional, it's why he didn't see the trap. Same for the bad investigators, it's not a plot convenience. I think it's the purpose, it's a critic about the irony of being a good investigator or about the strict procedures of the police itself, I will try to developp :

Investigators have to follow the procedures to avoid mistakes. But because of the strict procedures, the talentuous investigators can never take liberties to confirm their intuition. The other investigators who have no intuition, are tolerated because they are able to follow the procedures. But the good investigators, who are able to detect the criminals are not trusted, because they are too emotional to follow the procedures.

Since being over-emotional is the condition for Seungbae's good intuition, there is a kind of fatality. It's like the strict procedures of the police prevent them from having competent investigators. So, the police is full of people who can't see the criminals under their noses but are still able to arrest them correctly U_u And good investigators who are able to detect the criminals are forced to do mistakes under their emotions if nobody trust them.

yeah, I agree with you too. but I still think that the police is not doing everything they can to catch the “bad guy”
