Binge reading

I understand Hayafuji now. I believe he's a redeemable character at this point. I can imagine how cathartic it must be for him with Hara "forgiving" him. It's nasty but it can spark his self-redemption and maybe there's a chance for him not to become the same kind of father and husband to Minako and their child. Overcome his fear of himself and his resentment to women, esp Minako.

Hara is still not moving forward. She took a step but she was too weak for Misato's manipulation.

Misato-chan. The manipulative bitch. Whether she sent the photo OR not, she's being egotistic and manipulative. Unless she has a valid reason for her actions...via her brother probably, she's the worst character for me at this point. Worst than Minako, since she had her reasons.

Eh, even though I now know the reason behind his actions, I don't think a serial rapist can ever be reedemable.

In what terms? A person changing for the better is a kind of redemption. Getting jailed and accepting it is one too. Or just knowing the reasons and he's forgiven? Of course that is not redemption. Hayafuji has to earn it.

People have different mental strengths to process pain and trauma. Hayafuji was weak, as a child until his adulthood. Childhood fucks people up but people can always change.

Shit sorry my reply was sent twice. But I gotta say, from the comment above mine, commiting suicide is also a kind of redemption. That's the best one, wouldn't it? Readers would love to read hated characters killed.

Never said people who commit criminal acts don't get punished or gets excuse for whatever they did. But people change. Whatever they did doesn't define they entire being especially if they are working on bettering their life.

Humans cant change whats within them. A person become criminal after they have lost their humanity and nuture their evil within them. They cant go back. Thats the reason there is a saying , once a criminal always a criminal

Wow. How short sighted you are. There are people who are mentally and emotionally weak and/or were forced or led to do what they did. Even if they try not to nurture that evil, circumstances still get them there and they are mentally weak to stand by what's right. What defines an evil act by your standards? I hope you never did a single bad thing in your life that you have to say sorry for, no matter how big or small that act is.

"No one is bad" is not the point. Being able to change from good to bad and vice versa, and repentance and reflection is. Good talk, good talk....

I mean u read lots of yaoi which includes a lot rape so not surprise u sympathy with a rapist, and find him redeemable and its just so strange you feel for him. Instead of all those characters he scared for life and freaking violated. I sure hope that you ain't anything like this in real life!!! imagine your child was one of those dude victims u sure wouldn't be thinking oh its okay I know he's been through things in his life. LEARN to separate fiction and reality cause life isn't like one of those fantasy you read women face those issues all the time. AND YESS THERE SUCH things as BAD PEOPLE if he existed he would be a HORRIBLE PERSON. its great the girl learn to move on cause she had people who loved around her but not everyone got that much compassion and that's totally fine.

Yikes. Ask why's and how's dude. You only concluded that yourself. Jeez. So single-minded. Ever thought that rape in yaoi is just a fantasy and fetish, like rape play? It depends how the author tackles it. Most of them are just feeding on that fetish, while there are stories that attack the topic realistically, like this one. If you think all rape in yaoi is depicted equally and the same (same way you concluded my read history), yikes, I suggest opening your mind more.

Remorse, guilt and repentance, ring a bell? Hayafuji brought himself in, not anyone else. Not his wife, not his victims, but himself. Care to take that into account? But I guess not because of selective empathy and black and white mentality. Heck, the author even spent their damn time writing Hayafuji's struggle try to figure out in himself why he had so much hate towards women and came to terms with it. But that doesn't matter, huh? He didn't get away with it, he even turned himself in.

By no means did I disregard the victims. But don't assume I didn't feel for them just because the perpetrator realized his wrongdoings and I happen to analyze him.
