i think maybe instead of being overweight he could be really skinny and had to deal with his limited power in life and then he becomes stronger and confident ( your idea is good but i feel like i read many stuff with similar plot, being ugly overweighted w shitty personality and then goes through tough training for years and becomes soo hot and nice, like i said your idea might go in diffrent way but its brave to do it
maybe if you are gonna go with inital idea then try starting a story like he was always perfect and then slowly by getting to know the character, we got to knoe his past too

I'm currently writing a bl, adventure, game element story (coz I love em) and wondering wht everyone would think of having the male love interest warrior type skills thts weak both physically and mentally and over-weight at first but due to training and facing all sorts of danger with the mc slowly but surely becomes more confident and more masculine handsome (which the main doesn't notice till quite a few people start to fawn over the main lead). Usually male leads in these type of settings in light novels r already established to be strong and I quite like those characters and I'm tempted to also take tht route coz like I said I love em specially when they're doting to the mc. Just wondering u ladies and gents think about my ML concept
