Wow!!...harsh reviews

I am a bit surprised by some of the crazy harsh reviews about the masculinity and femininity of the characters. I thought It was cool that the author drew the characters in this way.

Nanao obviously likea his job and likes his sexuality about as much as he also hated it. He was torn between pride and insecurity. Which is kinda common today, I thought the story was sweet, just like falling in love for the 1st time. You're in a state of euphoria. Yaoi is primarily written by women so it's natural to see a bit more feminine identifiers in a story. But what wrong with a feminine man?? Or a masculine woman?

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, and people just have story preferences but look at the fucking cover ? Checkout the opening scene ? You can clearly see the type of characteristics being displayed by the mains, if that's not ur thang? Don't read it ! I

I just hate seeing all these reviews about typical this and typical that. Love this story for what it is, not for what it isn't.

That's my shit in a nutshell - sorry for the rant

If they had to pay to read it o wouldn't have cared, but these are some ungrateful ass wipes!!! If you read yaoi to decipher the meanings like literature how will you idiots enjoy anything? You ugly monkeys should go read Shakespeare

I agree and respect your "rant" (lol).

I read stories for their plot - smexy scenes are a big bonus. In RL I have friends and co-workers who are gays (male and female). And I do not expect what I read to be similar to rl. This was a really good story, in my opinion. No dragging out with the angst - which seem to be used alot in omegaverse... uke was a strong willed person, yet so adorably lovable. Seme was the flexible and understanding type (so unlike the vibe he first had when he first appeared and met Nanao) - with just the right amount of possessiveness.

And to those who think Nano looks like a girl - my male gay co-worker is an office beauty (yes he cross-dresses, its allowed in our workplace). He still maintains his male chivalry and will defend us girls if there are any guys being rude to us, even while he wears a skirt and high heals. Don't judge a book by its cover. You'll miss a gem of a story - or miss the opportunity to befriend an awesome person.

Awww you guys are so sweet !!! That's exactly what I mean, Don't be so close minded, open up and enjoy ....People and cute stories I mean it's Yaoi for crying out loud it's supposed to make you Happy !!

Obviously not all Yaoi was created equally some is poorly written and executed but this isn't it !

I think there is a big difference to a feminine guy and using a lot of negative female tropes in a story. My understanding is that many readers were complaining about the repetitive use of these negative stereotypes. Evidence- readers never complain about shonen ai/ feminine guys/ transgendered guys/cross dressing guys in yaoi. Actually, feminine guys are welcome, and I would date one any day. But I wouldn't go for a guy who thinks his only option is to use his sex charms. I agree with you- we need feminine guys. But not degrading yaoi tropes in 2018 & 2019.

Thanks for your POV , I will re-read with your thoughts in mind, but I will say that I don't think reader *Never* complains ( we always complain) . All you need is a Reddit account

I honestly love to hear another view on any story, but I read 1 full page of harsh review after harsh review and it felt like a lot of Hate more than just a differing of opinion and that didn't sit well with me.

I don't want to continue further into this spiralling debate it seems so be evoking some strong emotions in people, I've had my say and I'll leave it at that.

The cover doesn't tell you anything about the story whatsoever. I don't even have a problem with long hair. I just didn't think he would take such pride in fucking a guy and not cumming, acting like it makes him more dominant. And then he gets mad the seme wants him to leave his job. Who would want their partner to work in that kind of environment after entering a relationship with them?
