I think he may be one of those 'slow witted but adapts to everything' characters you know the ones who just don't seem to be bothered by anything, they kind of make the story amusing and can help move along some parts easier.
I don't understand how a few chapters back the slime was able to leave by itself to go to work even though the elf had to hold on to him. And why wasn't the salesman scared to go through the brick wall when holding onto the monsters? Was he just to distracted? And it was obvious they were monsters so why didn't he react to that?
