Does that mean that the gender that they identify with is wrong?
or is the situation not realistic because neither of them have experienced dysphoria?
Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think that anyone should be invalidated as trans just because they haven't experienced gender dysphoria. Everyone has different experiences.
as a nonbinary person you don't need gender dysphoria to be trans lol. literally, the American Psychological Association agrees that you do not need it to be trans. GD is the distress that results from a mismatch between your gender identity and your body/gendered perception. Being trans is the gender identity not being the same as the one assigned to you at birth. also you don't actually know if the characters have gender dysphoria or not in the narrative so why does it matter.
you cannot be transgender if you dont have dysphoria which neither of these kids have and it puts a bad name on lgbt people everywhere by showing these people as an example it nowhere near shows the difficulties faced by actual transgenders. if you want a good transgender manga i recommend this one: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/umareru_seibetsu_wo_machigaeta/ we need representation but we need to be represented accurately.
