Actually it's not racism. Probably you already know but in asian cultures white skin means nobel, loyal etc. because in ancient dynastic times, those with fair skin implied wealth and nobility as opposed to servants who labored outside under the scorching sun. It's still going on in asian culture. They prefer white skin because of their history. They weren't being racist they were just assholes that didn't have any moral and was looking down on him because of his rank in society

Still, that's ugly as a way of thinking.
