The shota genre has its purpose and its target audience seem to be pedophiles, people who enjoy child pornography, but not all who read the genre are pedophile nor do they enjoy it morally. There is no direct causation that one who reads shota wants to make love to a child. Maybe some, but definitely not all.

If it's banned I think child rape might increase since there's nothing for them to leash their frustrations on. That's why castration is always the best choice. Hopefully in the future there will be a way to detect pedophiles, maybe a physical test or something that all people must go through like vaccination and if pedo positive castration is a must.

While we are on the topic, I am actually against rape. Everytime I read it, it makes me so disgusted and uncomfortable. If we are serious about banning shota, we should seriously consider banning rape as well. The author's who spend their time to draw someone get forced against their will probably have a few screws loose, seeing as they enjoy writing about rape. Rape, a "fetish" is actually dangerous in this community, because i've seen many people forgive and excuse many rapists in the stories or even excuse rape in general because they've been groomed by author's to romanticize rape. They become unaware despite their stance that rape isn't as "Bad" and it's just "fantasy". But the harm is already done by how many people turning a blind eye and even excusing rape. It would be great it rape and shota, incest, gore, any of the genres that contain illegal or non-consensual acts be banned. Let's make it happen please! Plain ol' consensual sex is just so much more sexier.
