I totally agree. I don’t understand why is this opinion unpopular
people prefer fiction over reality in most cases, and especially fiction which they can see themselves in the characters to a certain point but be able to remove themselves during negative moments (Jiwon's toxicity/violence, DG desperation,etc) . For the most part readers will ignore all the negatives for a "happy ending" regardless of it actually making any sense because they just want that happy ending for their favored characters. Personally I don't like Jiwon and nothing the author can provide as additional points for his likability would provide enough reason to forgive his previous transgressions in a real world setting. However despite this, it's just a made up story with made up characters so there is also the argument of regardless of what the author decides to do with their characters or the direction the narrative takes I can either continue to read for the few elements of the story I do enjoy such as Chanwoo and MD or give up on this story entirely.
Indeed, very well observed. But the kind of thing you described on you second sentence is pure shit. An avid reader won't do that, you know? Much less a good author. Despite all I said, I will probably read until the end as well, since I already came this far and as you said, is not real. Still... This kind of romance tends to be downright absurd if you look at it objectively, plus what seems the most absurd are the comments pitying him so much. He doesn't deserve it. Why would he?
All we consume, read, watch and listen for entertainment is a reflex of our mindset, feelings, desires, fetishes, what it could be, and it will become. They are our sick desires, sometimes. Even if it isn't real the fact that lots of people chew and swallow this kind of content, that there are lots just like this one and even worse, show something quite disturbing about them. This is the first and last time I will read a story such as this one.

No i completely agree with you and I won’t lie I consume more and more stories like this within the BL genre is unfortunately making me question why I even began my journey into its consumption. Mind you I’ve bern reading since middle school and I’m 24 years old already. I don’t know it’s disheartening and honestly makes me want to stop reading the genre because while there are some real gems I haven’t seen any growth or change in the experience and expectations of reading BL and it fact it seems to be worsening at least to me when you have a plot like BJ Alex harrolded as the second coming of Christ so to speak.
you should read, if you haven't already, "Kami-sama no Ekohiiki" I started reading it with low expectations but now is one of my absolute favorite mangas of all time and it made me change all of my views in gay love portrayed in comics for females. Is really good and surprisingly it made me think a lot.
I have actually read that one and it yes it’s quite good.
I am not rotting for Jiwon, I don't pity him, nor I sympathize with him. He was a fucking asshole with DG during far too long and was way too toxic. His story doesn't justify the wrongs he does. And he is simply reaping what he sowed. People don't change that easily, even if they date, if it were a realistic setting he would still be a fucker as soon as he realized that DG fell in love with him again. If DG go back to Jiwon just because ''he fell in love'' and not because he guarantees that he changed, then DG lacks more self love that what I expected This cute boi deserves respect and tons of love. Jiwon must suffer a lot more for my to empathize with whatever shit he has put DG trough.
I do like him being stalkerish tho lol
