Noooooo. Looks like I'll be left with unfinished webtoons, then. Well, at least we still have online ani--wait, no. I'm not jinxing it.

I'm going to check the Agency website, but so far I can't find any recent sources saying this aside from the one you just linked.

Also should be noted that in the article linked it said it was a proposal

Yeah, so I can't find anything backing this up. I'm going to have to search in Japanese on the Agency website, so it might take a while. If anyone who speaks Japanese wants to try, I encourage them. Point is, Japan's been saying this for a longass time. I'll admit, I feel guilty, but I barely have the cash to buy even one manga series

Only PR announcement in December is about a fiscal grant, so unless they announced it on TV or months ago and the website you linked is only JUST talking about it (and even then, I've seen nothing on other websites talking about any sort of 2 year jail sentence or fine; obviously you can be arrested for this, but I've seen no proposal of two years anywhere), I wouldn't worry just yet.

Yeah. I get it. Its just worrying. And I feel guilty too. There's A just no way to read Japanese manga without 1. Knowing how to read Japanese
    2. Waiting forever for it to be translated professionally
Or 3. Do it this way
