Agreed 100%. I think the author was trying to go for "Hyesung was in love with Dojin and in denial/didn't realize" based on her comments that the bond was formed from love between the two in the epilogue, but it feels forced. I'll take it over the "bit on the neck during a passionate moment and now we're bonded forever" trope, though, I hate that one.
well while reading hyesung being in love but in denial was the feeling i was getting all along, which made sense with how his father used his mother (which probably made hyesung not believe in love). He just couldnt deny it anymore after he noticed he bounded. It did feel rushed at the end with the marriage proposal but the rest made sense.
She didn't convay anything well. I will be unsubbing and never looking again. I held out hope she would address the rape... Forced marriage... Forcing a child on someone who never wanted it... The way his family will probably treat him the rest of his life... But oh well. To each their own. This will now go in my "BAD omegaverse" list.
Yeah, they let the rape slide LIKE SO MANY OTHER BL stories! And I mean slide as in, PRETEND IT NEVER OCCURRED, Except for the baby being born.
To me it seemed like the end of this season was trying to make the Omega slowly turn around in his feelings about his child, but to me it came off more as...."OMG I can't sleep with someone because we bonded?! Let me stay with you then!" instead of true character development and maturation.
I do like how it seems they will be having the Omega starting to change his circumstances (finishing school) instead of him vocally trying to find someone to bum off of for the rest of his life.
P.S I started reading omegaverse stories in fanfic and Western novels before the more recent Korean and Japanese ones, and I can say for certain it is easier to find ones that don't feature main characters raping main characters (especially if you know what to look for), etc. Plus, especially in fanfic, there is much greater variety in how the a/b/o dynamics and omegaverse AU work. Shucks, a decnet portion of the fanfics I read aren't even from books/movies/etc. I have even read/watched/previously heard of. I am of the belief, when it comes to fanfics, why shouldn't I read things from a fandom I know nothing about or with characters I don't ship (I am not actually someone that really ship ships anyone. And there are characters that I seriously don't think would work very well in a relationship together but I keep finding awesome stories featuring them as a couple.) when a fic's story is so enjoyable?
yeah, i really don't get it when people try to say that the rape is justified because that's just how omegaverses work. i've been in a lot of fandoms and read shitload of omegaverse fanfiction and there was almost never any rape and if there was there was usually a trigger warning and no one tried to pretend like it wasn't rape
Very interesting. I am also reading a lot of omegaverse too and i found it full of rape. Omega people never intend to have sex but because of their pheromones they end up being fucked, but if they had their state of minds they wouldn't wanted it.... the difference i find and i think that most people try to say is how differend world the omegaverse is. In our perspective that is a rape and a crime. But in omegaverse that incidents are often and the victim is presented as the one that wants it, although it is a condition of their body and they can't help it. I never read a manga that the alpha is presecuted for rape. The same happens in this manga. Some people see it from the omegaverse world and others from our world. I don't know if i explained right my point of view... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
i get what you mean but i think the problem is that people read the manga and then try to argue that it wasn't rape. i mean i get it. i also ended up reading it till the end because i do find the whole concept kinda hot. but as a fantasy. in my opinion, it's ok as long as we acknowledge that it is a piece of fiction and we are reading it for enjoyment but what happened in it is not... ok. also when you said you read a lot of omegaverse you mean manga? because the point i was trying to make is that rape in western omegaverses is portrayed differently, maybe i didnt make that clear
Oh I know. That is where I read 90% of my omegaverse. I even help run a ABO Discord Server all about Omegaverse in Fandoms. This is just one that I had read the author before, her stuff was good, Oh look Omegaverse! Cool... Then things went about like this "Oh...No....No....NO! Well Damn... Now I am pissed."
Lezhin exploits its artists. They’re strapped with ridiculous deadlines for the entirety of the comic. If they miss even one and have a hiatus for one week, then they get paid half of their original contract. So they have to always work through the flu or whatever health issues they develop from the stress. Imagine a fever delirious person writing the the ending of a story. It might end up being a bit wonky. Or they just reach a point where they just have to end it cause they can’t go on. Then they’re gonna find the easiest way out, and that’s that, even if it makes the ending bad. This seems like one of those times.
Hehe, yeah that is how it has been with me when reading a lot of the Japanese omegaverse comics, and I guess the few Korean omegaverse comics too now. Most of them I try because, well, a new source of omegaverse! There are some I felt were eh but kept reading because there were things/characters I did enjoy, or felt was different. But there is a handful I REALLY like.
Discords..discords.. I have never fully been able to understand what that is exactly.
I feel like nothing got resolved? the only reason hyesung came back is because he LITERALLY cannot live without Dojin. is hyesung even ok with the situation? he didnt want to be dependent and now he has an alpha partner and a baby he never asked for and he's just fine with it suddenly? i get it that he started feeling something for dojin but i feel like the ending was kind of rushed
