in all honestly I like the old AND the new thorfinn. The new thorfinn shows how much he grown as a person after everything he went through
It became so cheesy and boring, that's why. I loved the ThorfinnxAskeladd dynamics. Such great storytelling! Since then we got Einar and now Hild. I constantly roll my eyes. If Thorfinn doesn't want to kill: fine with me! But the author should think about better supportive characters and more suspenseful interactions. (I also liked the dynamics with the king). Good old times ...
If Thorfinn start to kill again, it won't make those characters better in your eyes and the story won't be better either. I'm talking that people want Thorfinn to kill Garm and Floki, but that would be horible writing right now and I like that he try to find another way.
I honestly don't even know who the people are you're talking about (Garm?). I'm so lost with this story. I started reading it many years ago. It's obvious where the author is heading (it's called Vinland Saga after all). Making Thorfinn a killer again is not the purpose of this story, but making him a Kenshin kind of guy is not doing anything good either. This story went downhill with the Ketil farm ark. Just bring in better interactions and better characters. It's not only about the "not-killing", it's about the soft, whiny and cheesy storytelling. The whole experience while reading this changed completely. It was disturbing, funny, ruthless, emotional, complex and highly entertaining. Now it's just stupid and cheesy and so damn simple! I honestly feel nothing reading this. Hild telling Thorfinn in the last chapter she would have killed him and Thorfinn making that stupid face - what's the author thinking? I remember watching PlanetES back in the days. Such a great work. This guy is capable of outstanding storytelling, but he ruined Vinland Saga for me.
Some people can't handle good character development
Don't know why people prefer Thorfinn as a killer. I like him more now <3
