I know, like what is Joel supposed to expect of Adam when all he does is go around having sex with every moving thing ? When he finally wants not only a sexual relationship but also a companionship how can he expect Joel to take him seriously. It will take alot of proving himself to undo all his past actions. Hopefully it doesn't go in the usual yaoi trope (like you said but i think it will be predictable) and the author decides to surprise us and Adam realizes that this is not the right way to win Joel over.
