Tbh, I’m probably one of few that have loved Sangwoo from the start and still do, even more than Bum. (This doesn’t in any way mean I want any of them to exist in real life. They’re better fictional).
But I had a feeling that Sangwoo was soooooo much more than simply a sociopath & I was right. He wasn’t born a sociopath, he became one because of his mother and boi do I find his backstory much more interesting than Bum’s who “just got mistreated” by his grandpa (?). (Also I’m pretty much sarcastic because it isn’t “just” it’s really horrible. But you’ll hopefully get my point.)

no tbh i still hate him. like yeah, he didn't deserve what he went through as a child, but he's still a literal murderer, and nothing can justify or diminish the harm hes caused to bum and other side characters.
Mistreated? Bum's uncle physically and sexually abused for years! How can you minimize Bum's abuse like that? He has been raped by his father figure just because he looked like his mother, not just mistreated.
Speak for yourself, I still hate him and I can't feel bad for him. I knew since season 1 he had an abusive childhood ( of course he didn't deserve that), Sangwoo is pretty typical as a serial killer, a lot of abusers, serial murderers, rapists and pedophiles both in fiction and in real life had an abusive childhood so I expected something similar for him too.
I don’t think bum’s abuse was anyless, no one does. And I specifically wrote the word “mistreated” to correct the commenter as he/she themselves has written that word and it will be easy for them to find their mistalke that way. If you actually go through the comments nobody minimised bum’s abuse, they just said that they find Sangwoos back story more interesting than bum’s and that they liked Sangwoo from the start and i just happen to agree on that!
exaaactly!! ppl in the tcc (true crime community) use stuff like mental illness to justify liking school shooters and it pisses me off. like ya, sangwoo obviously needs help and didnt deserve what he went through, but hes still a murderer.
They don’t use it to justify it - it’s simply something they say because people who commit crimes aren’t fully clear. They’ve some mental illness, come from a family full of crimes or a family with abuse. Theeeeeeen society doesn’t exactly do anything to stop it.
That is still using as a justification lol.
I love how everyone went from, "I hate Sangwoo", to "aw, I feel bad for him". Everyone judged him from the start based off what they saw and no one ever considered what he possibly couldve gone through as a kid.
It's horrible, he has suffered just as much as Yoonbum, if not more reguarding the mental effects it left on him. My poor bbs. ; -;
