no the price that syaoran paid was for him to continue travel to lots of worlds without being able to stay in one or be with sakura in their world for a long time, he must continue traveling to no end, and the price watanuki paid was that he stats in the shop forever without being able to go to other places so he is waiting there for kyouko until she appears...

I suggest you read TRC and XXXholic simultaneously, then you'll understand it better and you'll also know what was happening in both world at the same time. I always do it like that whenever I read it.

Nope, the price was not Watanuki's existence, he was a consequence of that wish, being that turn back time to save Sakura, Shaoran's entire existence was erased as a price I think, in order to fill that gap Watanuki was born.
I just ended TRC and xxxHolic, I have yet to end REI.
But as far as I know, Watanuki is alive, he paid his freedom as a price to be able to exist after the dimensions returned to its original form, after a while (more than 100 years) he become so powerful enough to regain his freedom, but still chose to wait for Yuuko.

I saw TRC ending and it seems like syaoran paid a price to get his wish and that price is watanuki's existence!!!! So wat I'm confused now is, is Watanuki alive? Or is he dead. Or like gone like yuuko is. And if he is dead does that mean that this series will possibly lead to an ending that correlates with TRC, showing how watanuki die?
This may sound confusing to you all. But I just know what happen to watanuki!!!
